The game is still as chaotic and as fun as the first game. With the added caveat that the game is now third-person so that you don’t commit as much friendly fire as before. Of course, this isn’t to say that the game doesn’t have friendly fire or even self-inflicted damage, but that’s part of the fun.

Use your map to find Points of Interest. When you set off on a mission, you'll get quite a bit of time to complete it, so if you want to make the most of a planet, don't beeline for the main mission. Instead, take the time to explore it thoroughly.
It’s something you would expect from co-op mission based shooters where you’d get mobbed from time to time, but Helldivers has always nailed the feeling of being overwhelmed by hordes to a tee. Did I also mention that team killing was also made less of a problem now due to the third-person perspective change? Helldivers 2 is a great co-op third person shooter that feels awesome, but is ultimately a grind-fest and does its best to hide the "pay to have fun quicker" model it has in place. The slow progression (unless you pay money) has made me lose interest in this very quickly, with little to no motivation to continue playing the same missions on the same difficulty for tens of hours until I can afford the right weapons to proceed.
